Ashna AND Brett
Sikh Fushion Wedding in the Virginia Mountains
Hot Springs, Virginia
THE VISION
For Ashna and Brett, the mountains of Virginia held both personal meaning and natural beauty. The bride, who grew up in Charlottesville, had long felt a deep connection to her home state’s landscape, and choosing The Omni Homestead allowed the couple to share that love with family and friends. The resort offered more than a breathtaking backdrop; it created space for a true weekend of celebration, where guests of all ages could gather, linger, and create memories that extended well beyond the wedding day.
The couple envisioned a celebration that honored both their backgrounds while embracing the unique setting of the Alleghenies. Rooted in tradition yet inspired by the landscape, their wedding design sought to be colorful and sophisticated - an elegant expression of joy.
THE DETAILS
Every choice, from food and music to décor and rituals, was made with intention: weaving Punjabi traditions alongside Southern influences to reflect who they are and where they come from.
Guests were welcomed to cocktail hour with an interactive seating chart - “Ashna & Brett’s Table of Elements” - a playful nod to their shared careers as lab scientists. Each guest “filled their beaker” to reveal their table number, blending whimsy with personalization.
At the heart of the design was a symbolic “courtyard,” serving both as the ceremony aisle and as a gathering space for traditional dances before dinner. Its painted pathways represented their journey: two separate pasts, their present together, and the family they look forward to building.
The dancing space was inspired by Villa Palladio in Jaipur, where we introduced pops of red, bold patterns, moodier tones, and a striking stage design transported guests into an entirely new atmosphere, offering unexpected moments of discovery and a vibrant finale to the night.
“You created a story infused with culture, community, and love.”
